Can one light touch change the world? TOUCH THE OCEAN: THE POWER OF OUR COLLECTIVE EMOTIONS, by celebrated craniosacral therapist, James Nemec, narrates compelling stories of heart centered presence and ocean healing. He explores the history of craniosacral, mind altering connections with dolphins, and with our environment. Upledger Institute certified, Nemec combines science and intuition to heal individuals previously considered beyond help. The case studies presented explain the curious life-elixir Nemec brews between the ocean, sky, and the energies of our collective conscious. "Are our bodies oceans in miniature?" At the end, the author stands the book on its head, challenging us to find out for ourselves. TOUCH THE OCEAN: THE POWER OF OUR COLLECTIVE EMOTIONS, is about a way of being with ourselves and others, being with the ocean and the sky in a healing context, even with the weather and weather patterns, and it is also about a new way of light touch, largely unknown, which is proven to relieve and treat an array of symptoms from migraines to depression, scoliosis to seizures, TMJ to ADD, and above all, which gently helps us to discover old story patterns long held within our bodies and to harmlessly release them. ABOUT THE AUTHOR Raised on the ocean in Palm Beach, Florida, James Nemec, poet and L.A. playwright, is also regarded as an expert in the field of CranioSacral therapy, and known for his fascinating hands-on work with dolphins and humans in the Bahamas through the Upledger Institute. Having worked in Los Angeles for more than 15 years, book events have been performed coast-to-coast, from Miami to LA to Chicago. He has returned from L.A. to his roots in Florida, on an extended visit. TOUCH THE OCEAN: THE POWER OF OUR COLLECTIVE EMOTIONS, by James Nemec, LMT, CST-D, has been made available by CraniOcean Media, West Palm Beach, from September, 2007. Opening the debate to anyone interested in the weather of recent years, and those aware of a Mind, Body & Spirit connection, this book opens fascinating doors to questions of healing ourselves, others and our planet. The perfect bound soft cover was first made available through Baker & Taylor, and is now available everywhere online (Barnes and Noble, Borders, Target, Amazon.com) and distributed by Ingram (Lightening Source) and New Leaf Distributing. Bookshelf at Harvard COOP, Photographed 11/2008 AWARD WINNER! Touch the Ocean has just won a modest National Award, and Finalist in Health: Alternative Medicine. The aim was to make a book on a very complex subject that could appeal to the general educated reader Except for Your Inner Physician and You, by Dr. John E. Upledger, the books on craniosacral have been too medical or technical to understand. Although the audience for these books is small and highly specialized as well as sophisticated, it worked! By the end of reading a delightful narrative the reader has a hit on craniosacral therapy.
TOUCH THE OCEAN - AUDIOBOOK CD/MP3 An AudioBook of Touch the Ocean is now being made by the author in his own cottage in South Florida. This setting is announced at the outset of the AudioBook. Inspired by Douglas Adams having done this with his own books, including The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, and armed with a theater background as an Actor's Equity Actor (AEA) and LA playwright, the AudioBook is said to be "enveloping" and a "real page turner," like Touch the Ocean itself. This will be unabridged, and include extra story information that is not in the First Edition of the book, Touch the Ocean, as space did not allow. Planned for Winter, 2009. New Leaf Distributing.
JOURNEYS: STORIES OUR BODIES CAN TELL The author wondered, "Who am I to tell other's deeply intimate stories without risking the tell of my own?" He broke a large volume of actual case histories in craniosacral therapy into two, easy-to-read books, and wrote Touch the Ocean in 2 weeks to offer his 'own' story first. The next book, Journeys: Stories our Bodies Can Tell, written in no less lyrical and poetic fashion, provides a wider grasp of this leading edge "light touch" modality by treating case history after case history--some unsolvable neurological disorders. It also goes more into the medical science of craniosacral therapy but in a way that anyone can grasp. Illustrations. Planned for Spring, 2009. New Leaf Distributing.
AWAKE AND ASLEEP: STORIES OUR BODIES CAN TELL This is the second part of the very large volume that was broken into two for ease of reading pleasure. Like Journeys, it too takes place in the back room of the Melrose Avenue acute-care-clinic in Los Angeles. The case histories are no less fascinating than those in Journeys: Stories Our Bodies Can Tell, or Touch the Ocean. Planned for Summer, 2009, Awake and Asleep also treats more of the medical science than Touch the Ocean allowed, and goes into the deeper meaning of what might possibly be called, "spiritual" -- with case by case stories, to finally end with a session performed in the ocean, bringing the reader full circle to the sea.
"A TOTAL AND DELIGHTFUL SURPRISE!" At the end, in a "delightful surprise" of book, a bookofabook, find out what the author does with a wink of the eyes to stand the whole series of books on its head, challenging us each to find out for ourselves! STAND BY FOR UPDATED INFORMATION!
Thank you for your consideration.
From the Introduction Virtually the ONLY article ever written about Touch the Ocean... From the Palm Beach Daily News, Sunday, October 7, 2007 [PDF] Rainbow-Water-Ocean:
Grateful to be Living the Dreams. The author, in a lyrical style, shares an intimate account of his own life experiences and emotions and in doing so compels the reader to consider different ways to experience life. He recounts stories of healing touch in the ocean with his fascinating hands-on work with dolphins and humans in the Bahamas and also shows how each dolphin can have an entirely unique approach to healing. Roy Nuzzo, MD, surgeon, diplomat of Rutgers, Harvard, Yale, Cornell, and a former US Naval Officer, logs in to share the experience from Sarah Lawrence College:
